Error 25002

Today I installed Daemon Tools and (bear with me here, it does apply to alcohol ^^) I was rather annoyed to find that not only was the DT virtual drive not showing up, neither was my actual CD drive. I was told to try running Alcohol 120% for the virtual drive and this didn't make any difference.

So, I'm wondering, what happened to my drives? I tried going to Device Manager and uninstalling then reinstalling the CD drives in there but every time I reinstall they just show up with an exclamation mark. When I open the properties of the CD devices the status shows:
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
This applies for all of the drives, emulated or not.

The windows troubleshooter didn't end up being any help at all and only told me to reinstall the devices and update the drivers.
I did read, however, in another post http://forum.alcohol-soft.com/index.php?sh...35&#entry99235) that the secondary IDE controller was disabled for one person and reenabling it helped. Although their 'symptoms' aren't the same as mine, I'm wondering if it might still help. The problem, however, is I have no idea what a secondary IDE controller IS let alone how to enable it.

Thanks for any help. You can enable / disable this via the device manager.

My Computer >> Properties >> Hardware >> Device Manager

Then have a look under the IDE Controller Tree. If its crossed out then its disabled. If it has an exclamation mark then there is something wrong with the driver.yup....try uninstalling the IDE and SCSI controllers.....

....did this not happen until you installed D-Tools?Well, I've concluded that Microsoft did something *correct* (Gasps from all around) with XP and that would be System Restore.
No, this didn't happen until I installed Dtools, in any case. For some reason, however, when I did the restore and reinstalled Dtools everything worked fine... meh.

Thanks for the help anyway, guys laugh.gif
